Finnish8d Defeats Mero Csaba in 118 moves and 4:37!

Everyone has been introduced to Finnish8d by a previous GoSensations article. Today he defeated Mero Csaba twice, who is well known in Europe. He only spent 4 minutes 37 seconds in this (the first) game! It lasted 118 moves, so if we average the time, he spent on average only 4.69 seconds per move! It is astonishing how quickly Csaba was defeated despite his opponent's speed. It is astounding how fast Finnish8d was able to read. To those of you who have become fans of Finnish8d, I'm sorry to announce that at the time of writing this article, he has lost to supertjc 7d in a 2H game (the decision was on Time but Black was leading anyways).

The game opening very normally until White 16 (S6). I personally have never seen this move before, I am used to seeing the cut of P6. It seems that the counter hane by Black may be an overplay. In this game and the second game, Csaba received bad results in the lower right corner. I feel that connect solidly with P6 instead of the hane at S7 is enough. In anycase, White manages to capture two stones and become very thick. There are still some weaknesses left in Black's moyo as well. The game proceeded peacefully once gain until White 32 invaded on the bottom. Black 33 (O3) I felt was a bit slack, it seems better at M5. Also, Black 35 (C3) was very odd, it gave up attacking White! I cannot understand Black's stragety in the next several moves, it seems very confused. Through 62, a big exchange had been made. Black attacked on top with 63 (G16), but White simply ignored it to reduce the corner with Q18. Black's counterattack of  O18 failed in the sequence through 70. White 72 was a very thick move that eliminated any aji on top. White next handles skillfully his top left corner from 74 to 99, even emerging in sente! The game soon finishes when Black misreads the cut at 107, and ends up losing his cutting stones.

I could not believe how fast White played and despite Csaba taking longer to think, Csaba was unable to find moves to defeat White.
