How the Emperor handles strangeplay: gjopok 9d vs. RoseDuke 9d
To make up for yesterday, I thought I would post another game from Tygem. This one isn't fresh and it was played in 2005, but it was played between two very well-known players that many Westerners may be fond of: Cho Hunhyun 9p takes White against Victor Chow 7d, who is a strong South African amateur that is probably most remembered for his recent performance in last year's WAGC, including his 0.5 thrilling win against Andy Liu, the US representative. Both are naturally Tygem 9d.
Unlike the previous game I posted earlier, we can see a classic Victor Chow opening here with a 5-5 and a 6-4 opening while Cho Hunhyun plays simple 4-4s. There isn't much else to say about this game as Black loses in only 104 moves! Perhaps this is why Cho Hunhyun was once called "Smoking Gun" ;).
