Korean Baduk maniacs When I stayed in Korea, I saw lot of baduk players, who played baduk all day long. We also have such players on Baduk servers. 2 examples: engpkjin on WBaduk 3-dan 40998 W- 41059 L More than 80 thousand games played online! MS63 10-kyu 31953 W-30636 L Last time I saw him online yesterday at 5 AM Korean time (Moscow evening) I was curious, do we have such maniacs in USA and Europe and I asked William Shubert, KGS owner to share statistic. Well i'm Sven84 but i had to recreate the account in 2009 after a long pause from go.

Only 618 W and 556 L (1174 Games)

Not that much really :D

I once asked somebody how it was possible for these players to have played dozens of thousands of games and still be stuck at 10k. He offered an interesting possibility -- many Go salons in Japan, Korea, and China will have a couple of common computers hooked up to an account on a Go server that patrons can use at any time. Thus, it can be kept occupied playing games all the time, and the average strength will stay constant.

That seems to be a likely explanation for some of these.
